Question from @clickryan
What’s hot to be styling for #HoHoTo? What makes a hustling “I’m a start-up” statement?
Answer
There are no specific rules about what to wear to a social charity event. In my opinion, an impressing look always means dressing like you would for that “first date”. I tend to say “first date”, over “dressing for success” because success can be so dependent upon what you’re trying to achieve…wearing stylish jeans to an interview at a trendy advertising agency can be as successful as wearing a suit to an interview at a bank…the goal of a first date however, is presumably to get a second; and what you wear is more likely to reflect your own personal style.
Dressing for a charity event in ‘first date’ attire is recommended because it shows your own style and personality. You don’t have to be complicated in your choices, sometimes simple stands out the most. To some, personal style is a pair of dark dressy jeans, a crisp button down shirt with a sports jacket. To others, personal style may be a pair of tailored dark pants with a dress shirt, and a tie that pops. Either way…what you wear should reflect your personality and you should be comfortable with your choice of attire…a well cobbled pair of shoes might help you stand out, but confidence will get you noticed.
My own personal choice? – A pair of jeans, a shirt that shows my personality, a great belt and a simple blazer.
Just remember, whatever you decide to wear…be yourself, be confident and have fun.
See you at HoHoTo
